Hershey was my very first British Shorthair. He was an import from the other side of the pond....London, England. He arrived at JFK International airport and when I first saw him it was love at first sight. At least for me. I brought him home to my husband, Peter, and it was love again. I became Hershey's number two human. Peter was most definitely, number ONE. For the next 18 years Peter and Hershey were inseparable. They were best buds. They read the newspaper together, ate breakfast together and at the end of the day, watched T.V. together and went off to sleep together. I, of course, was his servant; fed him and cleaned his litter box. He loved me, I knew that, but he loved Peter more. He was so much a part of our lives for 18 years that it seemed impossible that he wouldn't be with us forever. It was unimaginable. But, as we all know, our cats don't usually live as long as we do and on Friday, August 3rd, 2012, we said good bye to our most beloved cat, Hershey Kisses. We will always love you and deeply cherish you, our sweet, gentle ball of chocolate fur.
